The 2024 State Livestock Show took place Feb. 10 - 17, 2024, at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales, Louisiana. Bret Milton and Rylee Milton both represented Frost 4H club at the LSU AgCenter state livestock show!
Goat Showmanship took place on Sunday, Feb. 10. Bret Milton placed 4th in 9yr old Showmanship with Sunny Girl. They make a great team! Rylee Milton also placed 9th in her age division with River, competing against 20 kids in a tough class!
On Monday, Feb. 11th Rylee placed 5th Place in her class with River Reaux and Bret placed 2nd with Sunny!
Bret Milton won overall junior reserve grand champion on Tuesday, Feb. 12th, with her Jersey heifer Fizzy. Fizzy was born and raised by Bret and her family! This title is a huge accomplishment for Bret and we are very proud to have her presenting Frost School 4-H!
Bret won 1st place with Shimmer and went back in for the championship drive on Wednesday Feb. 13. This 1st place ribbon meant a great deal to Bret and her family. After Shimmer’s surgery in November they never thought she would be show ready, but all of Bret’s dedication and hard work paid off! They did amazing! They also placed 4th together in showmanship in a very large group of 9 year olds.
Frost is very lucky to have had both Rylee and Bret representing our school at this years state livestock show. We can't wait to see what they do in the future with their livestock participating in future 4-H shows.
